COLUMBIUM ALLOY EXTRUSION PROGRAM. PHASE V: TUBING PROGRAM
Abstract
Phase V of the Nb and Nb ALLOY Extrusion Progam was revised from the pilot production of D-31 ''T'' sections to the goal production of tbing of the alloys X-10 (Nb-1OW-1Zr-.C) and B-66 (Nb-5Mo-5V-1Zr). two 8 in. diameter ingots of each alloy were melted and converted to 4 in. diameter billet stok by extrusion. Tube blank extrusions of 8:1 ratio were made from 32003400 F. The effecs of various process parameters are reported. (Author)
