Abstract

The collective descripion of electron interactions in metals was developed. T HE SUCCESSFUL SOLUTION OF POLARON PROBLEM WAS OBTAINED IN THE INTERMEDIATE COUPLING ANGE. A calculation of mobility of a polaron appropriate to intermediate coupling was accompished. Various developments were made in phenomenological theories of superconductivity. An improved calculation was made of the interaction between electrons resulting from the electron-phonon interaction. Various calculations were made on semiconductors. Quantum theoretic methods for calcuation of transport properties of metals were developed and applied to the anomalous skin effet in normal and superconducting metals and to cyclotron resonance in metals. Developments were made in the theory of elementary excitations, spin diffusion, and transport properties of He4. (Athor)
