THEORY OF ELECTRON CONDUCTION IN STRONG MAGNETIC FIELDS AT LOW TEMPERATURES

Abstract

An approach for the study of electron conduction in strong magnetic fields is developed and the thermopowers of metals are calculated. The final results will be obtained in the near future. It is expected that in transverse conduction the dependence of thermopower upon magnetic field will be significantly changed by the presence of phonon drag. On the other hand, the effect of phonon drag in longitudinal conduction will be saller, compared with that in transverse conduction. (Author)
