RADIO STATION RECOGNITION: COMPUTER PROGRAM AND TEST RESULTS

Abstract

A sequency of programs for determining the source of radio signals is described. Pattern recognition techniques are applied, the patterns being signal strength recordings asting about a minute. The first progam computes various properties from the patterns; the second comptes statistics from patterns of known origin; the third makes a maxmum likelihood determination of the source of unknown patterns on the basis of an assumed Gussian distribution. he results of several tests are reported.
