ASCENT PROBLEMS OF SOUNDING ROCKETS

Abstract

The dynamic stability and wind weighting problems of a spinning sounding rocket are investigated by numerical solution of the six equations of rigid body motion. Transition through the roll resonance regime is discussed, and first-stage trajectory dispersions are compared with those actually measured in flight on five vehicles. (Author)
