CHARACTERISTIC IMPEDANCE OF RECTANGULAR COAXIAL TRANSMISSION LINES

Abstract

The characteristic impedance of rectangular coaxial transmission lines can be readily and accurately computed by a simple equation when the apacitance per unit length is known. While the capacitance per unit length of the parallel planes is easily calculated, the corner capaitance is a more difficult calculation. The corner capacitances for a wide range of variables were calculated by computer and are cataloged in graphical form. the clculations were made using formulas given by SILES AND HIGGINS, WHICH WERE DERIVED BY ORTHO-NORMAL BLOCK ANLYSIS.
