The Generation of Classes of Noninterfering Frequencies.

Abstract

The mutual interference chart gives the compatibilty that exists between the channels of a radio set. This property of the chart is used to determine classes of frequencies that are compatible with given transmitting or receiving frequencies. The approach is based on the elementary theory of classes. By the use of the chart, two categories of fundamental classes can be defined: those classes tht contain undesired frequencies going into interference in the presence of a given desired frequency, and those classes that contain desired frequencies which in the presence of a given undesired frequency are subject to interference. The classes of comptible frequencies resulting from these definiions are determined for circuits containing one or more half-duplex or duplex channel terminals in the simplest possible configuration on the assumption that the source of interference is locl. The influence on these classes of interference from distant souces is briefly discussed. (Author)
