A COMPARISON OF INULIN AND CREATININE CLEARANCES FOR ESTIMATING GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE IN MAN

Abstract

dentifiers: Kidney function tests, Inulin clearance, Creatinine clearance, Glomerular filtration rate.A highly significant correlation was demonstrated between inulin clearance and endogenous creatinine clearance in man. In addition, the confidence limits of the regression of creatinine clearance on inulin clearance do not permit the conclusion that a significant difference exists between these two estimates of glomerular filtration rate. Since creatinine clearance is the easier of the two clearances to perform, it has been adopted for all routine renal purposes. (Author)
