SOME DESIGN CRITERIA FOR OPEN-ENDED MICROWAVE CAVITIES

Abstract

The electromagnetic problems involved in determining the proper waveguide size for the TE CAVITY AND ITS TERMINTIONS ARE DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF OPEN-ENDED SAMPLING AVITIES. The approach one may use for aerodynamic improvements of the cavities is dscussed, bt no conclsions can be drawn abot the design's validty since no experimental tests were taken. (Author)
