THE RECOVERY OF FLIGHT TEST PAYLOADS
Abstract
A general discussion of recovery system design philosophy for a bllistic type re-entry vehicle is presented. The importance of the system integration design concept is emphasized. A specific problem of retardaion system deployment is reviewed since such considerations are of major concern in the recovery system design. The pre-flight development testing and evaluation of the recovery system is also described as an important deign consideration. The NERV (Nuclear Emulsion Recovery Vehicle) is presented as a typical example of an application of these concepts. UTHOR) d-287 9299 +++ethods of recovering flight test payloads.
