STUDY IN THE FIELD OF FLUID CONTAMINATION AND THE METHODS REQUIRED TO RESTORE AND EVALUATE THE CONTAMINANT CAPACITY OF USED FILTER ELEMENTS

Abstract

Idenifiers: Fluid filters. Progress is reported on methods and procedures to implement production cleaning of filter elements. Two ethods were established for maintaining quality control of the cleaning process. A first inspection gives the surface cleanliness of the element and insures that the final phase of the cleaning process removes al loose contaminants to a prescribed level. a second inspetion gives the intertiial leanliness of the element pore spces. This test permits an ssessment of the degree of flow area open through the element, and appropriate vlues can be etablished for a given P/N to provide a go, no-go check. (Author)
