MATRIX METHODS APPLIED TO THE GIBBSION VECTORS AND DYADICS WITH APPLICATIONS TO FLIGHT DYNAMICS

Abstract

Matrix methods applied to the vector, dyadic, and polyadic analysis of Gibbs simplifies the transformations encountered in deriving mathematical models of dynamical systems in moving bases. The matrix methods eliminate the need for mentally tracking hordes of tedious indices. The techniques are applied to the derivation of equations of motion of flight systems in orthonormal as well as non-ortho-normal moving bases.
