Abstract

Plastilock 650 adhesive was recom mended for use as a metal-to-metal adhesive in certain bonded component parts of the B-58 airframe. Three production rolls of Plastilock 650 adhesive were submitted for evaluation. The adhesive was bonded to 2024 T-3 alclad aluminum and tested for the requirements of specification FMS-0057 and military specification MIL-A-8431 (Type I adhesive). Plastilock 650 (Rolls AO 3304, 3306, 3307) met the requirements except for the minimum lap shear specimen values for 75 F and 30-day exposure to salt spray. (Author)
