DEVELOPMENT OF C-BAND BEACON FERRITE DUPLEXER. PHASE III

Abstract

The goal of this program is a C-band duplexerlimiter package meeting stringent electrical and mechanical requirements. Two principal approaches are being investigated. One consists of a four-port junction circulator in conjunction with a high power coaxial load and a broadband fixed tuned gyromagnetic coupler. The coupler is followed by a varactor limiter. The second consists of the same circulator and load associated with a low-threshold subsidiary resonance limiter followed by a varactor limiter. Progress on the four-port circulator, the broadband gyromagnetic coupler and the subsidiary resonance limiter is reported. A new form of the broadband gyromagnetic coupler is discussed and promising results concerning the problem of insertion loss in the subsidiary resonance limiter are presented. (Author)
