MATERIAL-COMPOUND AERODYNAMIC SMOOTHER-FLEXIBLE TYPE-EVALUATION OF

Abstract

Four flexible type smoothers were tested for their ability to withstand expected B-58 environmental conditions. Of the four (A-2, A-3, EC1604, and EC1451), EC1451 was considered the most suitable. Specification FMS-0008 covering high temperature resistant rubber sealing compounds for fuel tanks and pressurized enclosures and Specification FMS-0047 covering aerodynamic smoothing compounds are included.
