MINIATURE ELECTROSTATIC VIDICON CAMERA

Abstract

A miniature lightweight vidicon television camera was developed for closed-circuit television systems. The camera, including vidicon and control circuitry, employs only 54 transistors instead of the usual 107. The self-contained system requires only ac line voltage and a television monitor for complete operation. The picture quality and resolution are similar to commercially available models but greatly improved because of the unique method of electrostatic deflection and focus. (Author)
