Abstract
The effect of interrupted rates of load application on the bond strength of FMS-0016 adhesive (Plastilock 620-626) at 260 F for single and double overlap shear bonded specimens was determined. Preparation, bonding and test procedures for ten lap shear panels are described. The bond strength at 260 F of FMS-0016 (Plastilock-620626) adhesive bonded specimens of 0.50 in. single overlap is lowered by interrupting the loadingAT 90% of the ultimate strength and sustaining a constant load for periods of time at 260 F. Specimens of 1.00 in. double overlaps are not affected by similar conditions. (Author)
