HYDRODYNAMIC COMPRESSIVE FORGING

Abstract

Hydrostatic environment increases the effective ductility of materials. Dies can be built to retain 750,000 psi by the use of prestressed cylinders. The application of high hydrostatic pressures to current manufacturing processes represents a new and important field for investigation. (Author)
