RADIATIONS FROM AN EXPANDING PLASMA IN AN EXTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELD, VOLUME II

Abstract

Thre types of r diation from an expanding plasma in a magnetic field are investigated, na ely dipole radiation due to surface currents, the surface cyclotron and synchrotron radiations and volume synchrotron radiation. In each case, the total r di io lo rates are derived, as w ll as o her radiatio characteristics such as directional intensiti and sp ctral structure. In the calculation of surface an volu radi tio , e no r lativistic p nomena are based on a Maxwellian electron distribution, while in th relativistic case a high-energy beta-decay spectrum is ssumed.
