SCATTERING OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES BY AN EATON LENS

Abstract

A discussion is presented of the scattering of electromagnetic waves by an Eaton lens. The results of rigorous calculations of both monostatic and bistatic scattering by an Eaton lens composed of layers of nonlossy dielectric material with a central core are given. These data are then compared with the properties of an ideal Eaton lens with a continuous variation of the dielectric constant as a function of the radius, as derived according to geometrical optics.
