MATERIAL - THIOKOL 'ST' ' FILLET - SELF-ABSORPTION AND SELF-SHIELDING STUDY

Abstract

The tensile strength, stress at each 100% elongation, ultimate elongation and percent compression set were determined on Thiokol ''ST'' elastomer before and after irradiation at one flux at ambient temperature. No definite conclusions can be reached regarding the self-absorption and self-shielding properties of Thiokol ''ST'' fillets. However, the data indicates that some self-absorption and self-shielding occurred with Thiokol ''ST''. (Author)
