DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF IMPROVED MOLYBDENUM SHEET BY POWDER METALLURGY TECHNIQUES

Abstract

The billets for the final experiments to optimize the processing of powder-metallurgical Mo-O.5TiC sheet were rolled. Breakdown rolling can be accomplished by heavy reductions, and the rolling temperature has a marked affect on the grain structure. Among the compositional variations which failed during rolling were Mo-1.0Ti-0.011C, Mo-1.5Ti-0.011C, Mo-0.49Ti-0.072C (made from Mo and TiC powders), and Mo-0.50Ti-0.09Zr-0.016C. (Author)
