ON RELIABILITY INFERENCE
Abstract
IT IS STATED THAT RELIABILITY THEORY CONSISTS OF TWO MAIN AREAS OF STUDY: MODELING AND INFERENCE. Inference has centered mainly around the exponential distribution and life test acceptance based on this distribution. Inferences of a more direct type than an acceptance rejection procedure are discussed: a best point estimate of the reliability and a confidence relation. This report supersedes SP-935. (Author)
