INVESTIGATION OF VARIOUS ACTIVATOR-REFRACTORY SUBSTRATE COMBINATIONS

Abstract

A number of dispenser cathodes were tested in this investigation that exhibit the low work functions necessary for high-current density cathodes. Precautions may be taken to keep the evaporation rate at an acceptable level. These results suggest that a wide choice is possible in the materials capable of producing a barium dispenser cathode.
