Abstract

Investigations conducted by the Department of Atmospheric Sciences of the University of Washington for the year 1 December 1961 to 1 December 1962 are reported. The investigations were carried out on drifting station ARLIS II, the Arctic Research Laboratory at Barrow, Alaska, and on the campus of the University of Washington. Special field work was conducted on the USCGC NORTHWIND and the Arctic Research Laboratory cruiser, NATCHIK. This report shows the progress made on the programs in micrometeorology, carbon dioxide measurements, sea ice physics, energy transfer from open sea water to cold air, and soil temperatures.
