NON-SIMILAR NUMERICAL METHODS OF SOLUTION FOR ELECTRODE BOUNDARY LAYERS IN A CROSSED FIELD ACCELERATOR

Abstract

A numerical method of solution for the electrode boundary layer problem in a crossed-field plasma accelerator is presented, which allows a direct study of non-similar properties of the boundary layer profiles. It is applicable not only to a wide variety of free stream solutions with or without Hall-effect, but in essence to compressible boundary layers in general. Suggestions for a modification of the Karman-Pohlhausen integral technique have been discussed also. An evaluation of numerical results will be given upon conclusion of the present computations.
