TEST LAUNCHER DESIGN FOR SONOBUOY

Abstract

The design, construction and operation of a launcher built to propel an 8-lb sonobuoy at velocities up to 150 fps for water impact tests is described. Further specifications were that the sonobuoy's 9-in.-diameter air brake be open, that there be provision for trailing wires, and that the maximum acceleration not exceed 300 g's. (Author)
