AN APPROXIMATION IN PROBLEMS OF WAVE PROPAGATION IN COMPLEX VISCOELASTIC MEDIA

Abstract

An exponential interpolation was proposed as an approximation in viscoelastic wave propagation problems (Tech. rept. 10, CV-2-60 ONR-266; Mitre Corp., REP-SR-22). The above papers were limited to the consideration of materials having only one typical time constant like the standard solid. The idea of this exponential interpolation is extended to materials which have a more complex response, containing two or more time constants.
