HIGH VELOCITY WINDS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Abstract

Examination was made of high v locity winds (30 m.p.h. and over) in the Philippine Islands, including a description and analysis of wind velocities, duration, frequency, seasonality, and areas of occurrence. Study of their relationship to typhoons and tropical cyclones was also made. Evaluation of wind data available and the present data collecting network in the Philippines are given.
