MALFUNCTION INVESTIGATION OF MINE, APERS, M18, LOT PA-35-3

Abstract

A test program was designed to disclose the cause of the high dud rate encountered at Guantanamo Bay. Radiographic examination, visual examination, and chemical analysis revealed no reason for failures. Test firings indicated that only faulty blasting caps or improper fuzing techniques can cause duds of the type occurring at Guantanamo Bay. (Author)
