HAGAN CHEMICALS AND CONTROLS, INC. THREE-ELEMENT SOLID STATE ELECTRONIC BOILER FEEDWATER REGULATOR

Abstract

IN AN EFFORT TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH PNEUMATIC CONTROL COMPONENTS AND TO UTILIZE THE RELIABILITY OF SOLID STATE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, A THREE-ELEMENT ELECTRONIC BOILER FEEDWATER REGULATOR WAS DEVELOPED. The system was comprised of three electronic transmitters, a control unit, and an electro-hydraulic servo actuated feedwater control valve. Evaluation of the control system was conducted such that the operational characteristics of the electronic portion and of the system as a whole were individually obtained. Results of evaluation of the electronic control system components, including transmitters and magnetic amplifiers, disclosed satisfactory operation with entirely troublefree performance over an extended period.
