INTERNAL FRICTION OF TUNGSTEN

Abstract

An investigation was made of the temperature dependence of relaxation, internal friction, and modulus of elasticity in shear g in a tungsten VA-3 wire after recrystallization annealing. The investigated wire with silicon-alkali admixture was obtained by sintering with subsequent forging and extraction to a diameter of 0.2 mm. Content of admixtures (weight %): Al2O3-0.001; Fe2O3 - 0.004; SiO2 - 0.043; Mo - 0.005. Internal friction was measured on a torsion pendulum. (Author)
