Based upon these factors, an allocation of function between the operator and his equipment is presented. The original prototype model of the equipment is reviewed from the human factors viewpoint, and an alternative design concept presented. Details of the system mission analysis are presented and a report of three laboratory studies of aiming steadiness is given. (Author)
