THERMODYNAMIC AND MECHANICAL MEASUREMENTS ON RUBBER I. METHODS AND PRELIMINARY RESULTS

Abstract

Preliminary investigations into the mechanical behavior and thermodynamic and structural properties of rubbers are reported. In particular an apparatus for obtaining significant thermodynamic quantities is described along with some initial results. Mechanical and X-ray measurements have been made to provide correlations among the thermodynamic, structural and mechanical properties. (Author-PL).
