SEGMENTED ROCKET MOTOR CASE PROGRAM

Abstract

Research and development was directed toward design, development, fabrication, and testing of lightweight motor case segments, culminating in a design applicable to large 9160 to 240 in. diam.) segmented solid propellant rocket motors. A discussion is included of the basic motor case segment design concept of the design of a 43-in.-diam. subscale motor case segment, and of the test program being conducted to implement t e segment design.
