INSOLATION AND ABSORBED SOLAR RADIATION AT THE GROUND IN THE ARCTIC

Abstract

The pre ent report forms part of a study of the heat balance of the Arctic. Short wave radiation is one of the main sources of energy, and its c ntribution to the energy balance will depend both on the cloud amount and type as well as on the characteristics of the ground surface. Previous studies have examined separately theALBEDO OF ARCTIC SURFACES, CLOUD CONDITIONS OVER THE Arctic and the relati n between insolation and cloud type. T e pre ent report present the net results of the various studies previously completed. (Author)
