A STUDY OF SACRAMENTO PEAK FLARES. IV: FILAMENT DISAPPEARANCES, FLARE SPRAYS, AND LOOP PROMINENCES

Abstract

Sacramento Peak flare films provide nearly complete, continuous observational data for other forms of solar activity than just chromospheric flares. The character of the observations is optimum for flare detection and measurement, but for other phenomena the material is less satisfactory. The report tabulates and gives details of major occurrences in recent years of three types of events: sudden disappearances, flare sprays, and coronal loops. (Author)
