ON THE STRENGTH OF THICK-WALLED CYLINDRICAL AND HOLLOW SPHERICAL SHELLS EXPOSED TO IRRADIATION

Abstract

The irradiation of solid bodies is accompanied by numerous effects which result in a volume deformation, changes in the elastic, and especially the plastic characteristics of the material. The dependence of the modulus of elasticity, the yield point, the tensile strength, and the entire stress-strain diagram on the total flux nvt was studied experimentally after irradiation of the specimens in a nuclear reactor.
