HEAT POWER ENGINEERING (SELECTED ARTICLES)

Abstract

The results of tests on heat transfer of compact checkerboard bundles with constricted cross sections are given. It is shown that these bundles are characterized by considerably higher heattransfer coefficients than the bundles ordinarily used. The experimental data are generalized, and calculation formulas are proposed for determining the heat-transfer coefficients in ordinary and constricted checkerboard bundles subjected to transverse gas flows. Also presented are the results of an experimental investigation of heat transfer to molten sodium during flow in a circular tube in the range of Pe numbers 18-400 and Re numbers 2400-6400. (Author)
