Development of a Temperature Stabilized Ordnance Binary Timer,

Abstract

A one-year program for development of a modular electronic timer is described. The timer consists of a stable inductance capacitance oscillator (L. C. Oscillator) feeding a chain of binary counters which can be set in 0.1-second increments up to 1,000 seconds and is !0.1% accurate over an operational temperature range of 165 to -65 F. The output (capable of initiating an explosive train) is taken from the binaries by an AND gate system through a digital selector switch and gives a single electrical output at the completion of the time cycle.
