FABRICATION AND EVALUATION OF FINAL ENGINEERING LOT NO. FA-X3M-2580 OF CARTRIDGE, BALL, 30MM, T239E1

Abstract

Forty-five thousand T239E1, ball, 30mm cartridges were fabricated and evaluated in final engineering tests. Automatic firings were conducted in the T182 and Mark IV weapons in which primer and case casualties were experienced. The cartridge produced high pressures under cold temperature firing conditions, but gave barrel life and projectile accuracy results within satisfactory limits. (Author)
