MISTRAM AUXILIARY CHECKOUT KIT TECHNICAL NOTES

Abstract

The MISTRAM Auxiliary Checkout Kit (MACK) is used for testing the transponder in a missile before launch to verify transponder capability to receive and re-transmit the proper X-band signals necessary for MISTRAM operation. T e MACK equipment consists of the tra smitt r cabinet, the console receiver cabinet, and the antenna. Capabilities of the MACK were demonstrated by operating the MACK in conjunction with an airborne transponder located about three miles away. Operating MACK with the transponder verified that the transponder, via an air li k, can receive, phase-lock, and retransmit the required X-band signals necessary for proper transponder operation with the MISTRAM ground syst m.
