AIRCRAFT AIRFRAME COST ESTIMATING TECHNIQUES

Abstract

An introduction to cost estimating techniques, specifically those applying to aircraft airframes are described. Each major cost element, e.g. labor, materials, etc., is treated, and a procedure is presented for estimating both nonrecurring and recurring airframe costs. This procedure is described as a series of steps which theoreticall lead to the correct answer. As experienced estimators will realize, every estimating situation is different and what is intended to be an illustrative procedure should be used with discretion in making actual estimates.
