SCATTERING OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES BY A FERRITE SLAB IN WAVEGUIDE

Abstract

The Kato method for obtaining rigorous upper and lower bounds on the phase shift in a single channel scattering problem is extended to the scattering of electromagnetic waves by a magnetized ferrite slab in a rectangular waveguide. A numerical example is solved with the aid of a simple trial function and a comparison scalar scattering problem. Close bounds are obtained on the phase shifts or the equivalent psi network.
