RADAR ASTRONOMY

Abstract

Radar astronomy has been defined as the use of radio echo ranging techniques to determine the distance to, and he reflecting properties of, upper atmospheric phenomena and interplanetary objects. This bibliography is concerned with radar investigations of astronomical problem only. Astronomical problems include anything outside the earth's environment, hence the foll wing aspects have been excluded: upperATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA, EARTH TERRAIN RETURNS FROM AIRBORNE RADAR, AND AR H POINT-TO-POINT COMMUNICATIONS BY MEANS OF RADAR ECHOES FROM THE MOON. The bibliography includes theoretical articles a well as those giving exp rimental data nd descriptions of equipm nt. It covers the period from 1946 to August 1962. (Author)
