SEPARATE COMPONENT MULTIPLE-EFFECT SOLAR DISTILLATION

Abstract

Research concerning a desalting system which utilizes solar energy and separate components for evaporation and condensation was conducted during April 28 to October 28, 1962. While cost optimization was not completed, equations were developed for solar collector performance and specific productivity. Items of equipment, such as heat exchangers, packed towers, spray chambers, etc., also received careful investigation. A model plant was constructed and is presently being operated. (Author)
