AN ELECTROMECHANICAL METHOD OF SCANNING THE STRETCH ARRAY

Abstract

A new type of antenna array consists of dipole elements, proximity coupled to a two-wire transmission line. Scanning is accomplished by changing the spacing between elements. A method of scanning using electromechanical methods is described which is particularly useful in large antenna systems over the frequency range of about 50 to 500 MC.
