Abstract
Device design analysis, process improvements, and investigation of new contact techniques were the major areas of activity. Additional work was initiated in package analysis and package limitations. Test circuits were designed for initial amplifier and oscillator testing and equipment for group A evaluation was provided. The thermal path between crystal and stud was under intensive investigation and significant improvement was noted. The present processes were reviewed, and diffusion photoresist and assembly area improvements and experiments were initiated.
