A THIN-PLATE BATTERY

Abstract

A program directed toward demonstrating the feasibility of miniaturizing the liquid ammonia activated cell is reported. The liquid ammonia activated cell, utilizing a reducible organic compound at the cathode and a light, active metal anode has the theoretical capability of meeting the energy requirement. The solvent for the system, liquid ammonia, satisfies the temperature requirement.
