MICROWAVE AMPLIFICATION BY RESONANCE SATURATION
Abstract
A new amplification principle is introduced based on nonlinear response of a saturated resonance absorption. The amplification and bandwidth of a traveling wave device based on this principle is derived. Experimental results on amplification obtained with iron-doped rutile as the active medium at 81.3 kMc are found to be in agreement with theory.
